Welcome to my design and architectural blog and thank you for visiting!
This is where I post items that excite, amuse and inspire me here at ecomodernstudios. I love to explore new spaces and ideas that get my mind working.
It was an exciting start to 2016 as ecomodernstudios was shortlisted for a UK Blog Award and became a Top 10 Finalist in the Green & Eco category. You can read more about that little adventure here! This little blog is also counted in the Top 500 HIBS UK Home and Interior Blogs where you can discover some incredible bloggers who enjoy design as much as me. I tweet a lot too and the ecomodernstudios Twitter feed is regularly included in the top 500 most influential accounts for Sustainability and the Built Environment.
ecomodernstudios features inspirational people, projects and public spaces. I love interviewing exciting designers and design studios to include previous Elle Designer of the Year Donna Wilson, Kitty McCall, Esme Winter, Ola, Roxwell Press, ByAlex, Taz Pollard, Made by Mrs M, Your Type Studio, Sarah Hamilton and Snowpuppe. I’ve also been fortunate to speak with Channel 4’s Laura Jane Clarke and BBC1s Gabrielle Omar about great architecture in Britain and to my favourite street artists Berlin-based Jana und Js. Most recently I was lucky enough to do a blog takeover with UK blogger Small Space People.
From time to time I also work with selected (and mainly UK-based) companies which impress me with their innovative credentials and these include Little Greene, Bloom & Wild, Vipp and Glazing Vision. I showcase these products in my own home which hopefully showcases my belief in their offering and these articles are clearly labelled where I’ve been supplied with discounted or FOC products for the purposes of photography and review.
From time to time we take design trips to exciting cities which include Copenhagen, Paris, Rome, London and Barcelona to date. There’s so much to discover and it’s lovely to share these experiences so thank you for your likes, comments and questions. We try to sneak in a few trips each year so watch this space for our next adventures!
Another theme which pops up on the blog is our home renovations. We’ve been building our own extension and renovation in a modernist design for the past year. There isn’t a deep or endless budget but a heap of exciting inspiration and a playful attitude to creating spaces. My lovely husband is always up for creating something out of the most unexpected resources and it leaves me thinking… what next?
The quickest way to follow my antics is to follow me on social media: Twitter, Instagram or Pinterest.
