Design Christmas Wishlist 2015 #1
So somehow we find ourselves approaching the end of 2015. If you’re scrabbling around to find a thoughtful present for your loved one then here’s the first of our top 5 recommendations for something beautiful and just that little bit different this year.
First up is Shore Projects; a watch brand inspired by the British seaside. They’ve designed a nifty strap mechanism that makes it easy to swap straps on a daily basis and with strap colours such as Poole, Whitstable, Portland and St. Ives they feel evocative and authentic.
The leather backing on the strap sits snuggly against the wrist and most importantly it’s designed for swimming in the sea, being waterproofed to 100m, so there’s no excuses not to take that dip!
There’s a friendly British vibe to this brand which is hard to ignore with its clean design and ingenuity. Our favourite design is the St. Ives watch with its polished gold finish and charcoal watch face – it has an element of ‘exploration’ to it and we opted for the blue Whitstable strap for alternating with. All the watches are made with stainless steel cases and crystal sapphire glass which won’t scratch however active you are.
Shore Projects are also partnered with the Marine Conservation Society donating £1 for every watch sold to help support them in their aim to protect the beaches we all know and love. Their vital work helps increase protection levels for aquatic wildlife and habitats, as well as improve the conditions of our seas and coastlines.
A thoughtful present with good vibes and the opportunity to chop and change as the mood takes you. Perfect.
Head to Shore Projects Twitter or Instagram for beautiful British coastal inspiration or join in with their #goodtimes monthly photography competition to celebrate our shoreline… whatever the weather! RRP £115 and available via the Shore Projects online shop.
